Estudios cosmológicos is a cycle of six studies for piano, each one comprising a limited number of piano techniques, movements or skills, and starting from a physical concept whose aim is to articulate the sound material evolution. Plasticity and beauty of concepts such as dark matter, Hawking’s radiation or quantum entanglement are used within these studies as a pretext to look for new mechanisms to parameterize time, which, at the end, is what defines the concept of music.

Estudios cosmológicos was premiered by Abel Sánchez-Aguilera on 2nd November 2024 at Teatros del Canal as part of the XXVI Contemporary Music International Festival COMA’24, organized by Asociación Madrileña de Compositores.
