El espíritu en la cima del ser is a piano piece born as part of a project created by pianist Abel Sánchez-Aguilera to honor Alexandr Scriabin on the 150th anniversary of his birthday.
The sound material, both vertically and horizontally, is created with the ideas of symmetry and non-repeatability that comes after the harmony used by Scriabin himself. In addition, the piece makes extensive use of the resonance of the instrument and even a piece of blue-tack is used to enhance the 7th parcial of one of the lowest octaves of the piano.
The premiere of the piece took place on 30th November 2022 at Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, in the closure concert of the XXIV Contemporary Music International Festival COMA’22, organized by Asociación Madrileña de Compositores. This concert was an homage to Scriabin and all the pieces that comprised the programme were composed
